Gods Hand

Saturday morning, January 29, I came to St. Simons Island to sit and meditate on God’s Word and Creation.  I decided to visit Wake Up Coffee House and sit out back where I could be alone and overlook the Marsh. It is a beautiful sunny day with the temperature in the high 50’s and birds singing praise to their Creator.

As I was reading the word of God in Psalm 107 I began to see the wonder of the relationship between mankind and the Perfect Creator of this Universe.  The Chapter begins verse 1 with:
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
For his steadfast love endures forever!
[ESV]

Forever is a concept of time that is hard for us to understand. We think in terms of minutes, hours, days, and years; yet God created time. The Preacher tells us that For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven [ESV]  (Ecclesiastes 3) and in Psalm 107 we understand that God who knows our trouble or distress loves us forever.

God will bring us “out of the darkness and the shadow of death”.  Many times we think that we have gone too far in our rebellion and are beyond hope, but it’s not true. You can never go to a point that God is not there.

This Psalm tells of man trying to do things in his own strength and finding that when he comes to his lowest point God is there and when he cries out to Him, He will lift him up.

How do I know this? The answer is found in verse 2.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
Whom he has redeemed from trouble
[ESV]

All we need to do is call on our Redeemer, just as Job did, and God will answer.  If the blood of the lamb, the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has redeemed you then you too can know what is spoken of in this Psalm.  If you do not know who Jesus is or have not spent time with the Savior lately, I implore you to find a Bible and discover who the Son of God is and why He is the only Veritas.

In closing I leave you with verse 43:
Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things;
Let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD.
[ESV]
